Snakehips are certainly riding a wave. Following on a giant tour of America last year, the duo is now promoting their new EP ‘Stay Home Tapes’. Featuring St Rulez it continues their trend of strong collaborations promoting their euphoric sound. With large following turning out to the latest show at Phonox. Coming onto roaring cheers, the crowd certainly let their presence be known. Playing Forever Part II everyone was soon grooving to the sounds to the words of Kaleem Taylor.
The duo launched into an uplifting set of rap classics, summer edits and their own tracks. Masterfully weaving between the two. With Snoop Dog’s vocal from Drop it like it’s hot mixing seamlessly with the upbeat synths.
As Snakehips ramped up the set with sprinklings of heavier trap beats the crowd started to get rowdy. Maybe it was the heavier beats but the heavy enthusiasm the crowd showed, as many threw their weight. With even a with even mosh pit close to developing as Don’t Leave played, it was all somewhat unexpected for a Snakehips crowd. Maybe someone put something in the water.

With a crowd riding a wave the set reached it’s peak as Snakehip’s played fan favourite “All my friends are wasted”. With the whole crowd singing along it was the perfect way to see out the set.
