Amsterdam Dance Event or ADE was back for another year, with the whole city’s nightlife exploding for the weekend in mid October. Arriving into the Amsterdam Centraal, the whole city felt alive. With even Albert Hijan (Dutch Waitrose) boasting a DJ playing drum and bass in the corner of the shop.
Amongst it all, Paradise brought a slice of Ibiza clubbing from the white isle to the grey and drizzly Amsterdam. Taking over the Warehouse Houthavens on the outskirts of Amsterdam’s port district. It was an ideal location for a big set up. Boasting an impressive sound system and laser show.
Arriving, Alan Fitzpatrick was in full swing. Playing his characteristic breed of hard hitting techno, which hit like a train and had the crowd moving in no time. Jamie Jones, then joined him going back to back with Alan Fitzpatrick. Creating an interesting contrast of their two styles. The heavy beats of Alan Fitzpatrick combining with the soulful and up beat styles of Jamie Jones. It was a set full of reversals and contrasts.
Rounding off the evening was Richy Ahmed. Playing a funky set with a highlight being a Goosebumps remix providing an opportunity for the crowd to sing along.
Overall, Paradise got a lot right bringing a lot what their Ibiza shows are about to Amsterdam.
