Madison Beer – The Paramount Huntington, NY (May 19, 2018)

Madison Beer dazzled in black shiny pants as the young crowd sang along to every song at The Paramount in Long Island, New York.

Before she took the stage there were two opening acts embracing the love of the audience during the night. Californian band Russo started off around 8:30pm with their song Lonely and amped up the crowd. Right after, Chicago singer-songwriter Aleem sang upbeat songs to set the mood for Madison Beer. He also covered Maroon 5’s ‘This Love’, which got everyone singing along.

The Long Island native showed up at 9:20pm for her first sold-out show in her hometown. “Long Island, what’s good?” she yelled. “I’m so excited to be here.” She opened the show with one of her most popular songs, ‘Fools’. The large crowd of teenage girls yelled in anticipation of the song about falling in love.

The 19-year-old wasn’t afraid of sharing her emotions throughout the night, especially during her cover of Labrinth’s ‘Jealous’ and ‘Teenager In Love. ‘Jealous’ began with a soft mellow tune until the slow, belted chorus brought her to tears. “’Cause I wished you the best of / All this world could give / And I told you when you left me / There’s nothing to forgive,” Beer sang as tears rolled down her face.

From the middle of the crowd, it was evident when a song was a crowd favorite. The jumping and yelling made the concert an even more memorable experience for Madison, who stood and took in all the exhilarating “I love you’s” and loud clapping at the end of the final song ‘Dead’.

Fans were particularly excited to hear Madison perform ‘Tyler Durden’, a song referencing her love for the fictional Fight Club protagonist. “I’m in love with Tyler Durden / That’s why this shit / ain’t ever working for me / I’m in love with a fantasy”. Fans took their time following Madison recite each line.

Putting on a show is no foreign feat for Madison Beer, who was discovered on Youtube by Justin Bieber after covering Etta James ‘At Last’. There were videos for each song, most of them being her own music videos such as ‘All For Love’, ‘Say It To My Face’, and ‘Dead’. Fans watched Madison look back simply impressed by how much she’s accomplished in the past few years.

Madison Beer’s debut EP As She Pleases went through a 31-date tour, Long Island being the second to last tour date.
