On 25th of November Nottingham learned what the power of female fronted rock ‘n roll sounds and feels. Not one, not two, but three fierce women visited the city with their magnificent bands. The evening began with New Years Day’s performance with Ash Costello on lead vocals. The band was displaying a great confidence and desire to shake the whole arena up with their most well-known songs such as “Kill or be killed” and “Shut up”, and more recent tunes like “Skeletons”. They proven to be a solid unit and showcased the ability to move whatever-sized audience big or small. Their announcement of the upcoming solo tour made everyone excited as they left the most pleasant aftertaste and desire to hear more.
With plenty of smoke, outstanding outfits and decorations came on stage the powerful In This Moment. From the very first second it was obvious that the performance is going to be spectacular. The vocalist – Maria Brink – with two gorgeous dancers on both sides was standing on a pedestal higher that everyone else on stage signifying her dominance and strength. Smoke was covering the stage for the whole set giving a sense of theatrical and mystical energy. But not only the extraordinary vocalist and stage decorations were eye-candies of the performance – all band members were wearing different costumes/masks. It was great to see how detailed and thought-through each song’s scenery was. The whole In This Moment show was breathtakingly spectacular.
After them the Halestorm’s time has come. All four band members – with Lzzy Hale on vocals – appeared smiling, excited and buzzing. Every single member of the audience, whether sitting or standing in the front, screamed their lungs off. Lzzy was playfully showing her signature super high heeled boots making everyone shocked and wondering how she can stand on them, not miss a note and play guitar at the same time. Her voice is so strong – it could touch the deepest corners of anyone’s soul. Halestorm proved to be a band of motivating energy that exploded in Nottingham in a way that even to this day people are still talking how incredible it was.
