Leeds outfit Van Houten return with the searching new single, ‘You and Me’, out today!
Following on from the lead single ‘What I Need’ and the band’s debut self-titled project in 2019, the Leeds five-piece are firmly finding their own sound with the new EP and taking their shimmering slacker pop in a new direction – with ‘You And Me’ offering insight into a deep and reflective state of maturity.
Singer Louis Sadler explains… “You and Me reflects on the darker side of love and relationships, describing how me and my partner grew apart and outgrew one another. The song is about me trying my best to help this situation but ultimately making things worse through my actions. The song describes the fragility and fleeting properties of love and lust.”
‘You and Me’ is lifted from their upcoming ‘Home Alone’ EP, due out on Clue Records this November and promises more languorous, submersive soundscapes dappled in the evening sun. Pre-save here.
