The Indios take on UK Indie Reggaeton

UK based, Colombian collective The Indios are determined to freshen up the UK music scene by bridging the gap between reggaeton and electro-pop with their latest track ‘Colombian Drugs'.

Following the release of their single ‘BADBOY’ in July, ‘Colombian Drugs uses it’s rooted Latino, Reggaton style and classic bouncing beat to create a kinetic, modern dance anthem. With a magnetic rhythm and captivating jungle vibes, the track is perfect for the modern musical palette.

The track’s hard-hitting vocals seamlessly flow between English and Spanish as the collective explore the negative impacts of drugs on individuals and society. “This song is about the other side of the coin when it comes to drugs. Not the usual story of a lavish life of pleasure but the darker side of it. The song means a lot to us since we come from a country very affected by this”, they explain.

Formed in London in 2016 as an experimental project, The Indios merge traditional Latin American rhythms with indie-electronic melodies to create their rich soundscape. Led by Colombian producer Juan Contento alongside fellow Colombian artist and drummer Felipe Rojas, the group have since gone onto perform around the UK and Colombia as a part of Blazed by God Records.

With the promise of more music to follow, “Colombian Drugs” is stark indication of the groups irreverent musical stylings.
