Stars of UK Jazz Scene to Play an outdoor show at Brixton Jamm

The socially distant outdoor show celebrates live music in the time of COVID-19

Live music fans-  rejoice!  This bank holiday weekend Brixton Jamm and Ashley Henry are bringing you the best of the UK Jazz scene.

This outdoor event features the likes of  Shabaka Hutchings, Femi Koleoso, Binker Golding and Cherise Adams-Burnett and all the proceeds will be donated to the Jazz Coalition Foundation, NHS Charities Trust and The Mental Health Foundation.

Ashley Henry had this to say about the upcoming event-

“It’s crazy but with everyone being in the studio or rehearsing but not playing, I thought it made sense to put something special together to support The Mental Health Foundation, NHS Charities Trust and Jazz Coalition Foundation. I am excited to announce the first show in a couple of months for everyone taking part at the Courtyard Brixton JAMM.

I liked it so much I said to myself, let me just organise and give back. We want to celebrate music for the mind, body and soul. Show jazz as a tool to heal and provide wellbeing.

Me being an Afro Caribbean, to have the event during carnival weekend means the world to me as that bank holiday weekend has consistently been a monumental time for Afro Caribbean’s to celebrate our heritage, fashion and music.”

This Freestyle Fellowship event takes place on Monday 31st and tickets are available on DICE.
