It has been a busy 2020 for award-winning singer-songwriter Riva Taylor, in the spring she released her debut album This Woman’s Heart .1 which was followed up by two new singles ‘If I Could Ever Stop Loving You’ and ‘Celebrate’. In between writing and recording Riva also launched The Online Songwriters Circle with producer Jeff Cohen which is now a mission to seek out undiscovered talent.

Her latest track Celebrate hit the airwaves last month and the lyrics touch on the sadness of loss and grief but also represent the happiest memories and a celebration of an unknown future and was written with Craigie Dodds who has worked with the likes of Amy Winehouse, Billie Eilish and Leona Lewis.

Meanwhile, The Online Songwriters Circle was created as a place for hit songwriters from around the world to participate in digital showcases as a way to raise money for some of the most loved venues such as The Bluebird Cafe, Nashville and The Roundhouse, London. The circle also tells the stories behind some of the songs we’ve grown to love. Past participants have included Jamie Hartman (Rag ‘N’ Bone man’s chart-topping hit Human’) Kevin Kadish (Meghan Trainor- ‘All About That Base’) and Sacha Skarbek (Miley Cyrus – ‘Wrecking Ball’).

Now they are launching the Strive initiative to discover unsigned songwriters. The winner of the Strive Award will be judged and selected by a group of industry veterans including Simon Greenaway (VP President, ASCAP), Jeff Cohen (Nashville based, Grammy nominated songwriter and publisher) and Rachel Mason (renowned international songwriting contest judge). The winner will appear at the next live Songwriters’ circle show as well as having their song produced professionally. What are you waiting for, get entering.
