Reminiscent of the queen of sultry pop Lana Del Rey, ‘For What Began by Putney Bridge’ is an album born from heartbreak and loss.

Across the 16 songs included here Mags On Earth details her experiences from years spent in London.  Born in Sweden, but a resident of London while writing the album, it was produced by good friend and long time collaborator Jose Manuel Cubides.

Filled with stories of how her loss of a long term relationship  becomes tangled up in other losses, ‘For What Began by Putney Bridge’ meets your ears in a wall of dreamy electro-pop sounds.  From the slow-building recent single ’The Good Man In Town’,  to her ode to searching for distractions ‘‘Lion in Dalston’, tales of the darker side of the relationship like ‘‘Lake Como’, and ‘Yeah It’s The Morning After All’, and the final, powerful, emotional ‘Backfire (Before The Fall)’, each track comes with accompanying video, each made by Mags personally.

An album filled with tales of heartbreak is something we’ve all encountered a million times before, but rarely do those album deliver the emotion punch, poetically lyrical observations, or wonderfully reflective production.  A hidden gem for the dark autumn nights.
