It’s safe to say this UK artist can’t be categorised into one single genre, but there’s something about this track that feels like Jordan Higo. Beautifully stripped back electric guitars, whirling electronic swells and faultless smooth RnB vocals allowing us to hold onto every lyric. It’s a sound that can be appreciated by all generations.
Jordan shares more on the track “In My Absence describes a fantasy that a person has about someone that they can not be with. In this song, the only way she can connect intimately with them is through their music. When listening to his song she feels as though he is singing directly to her.
The lyrics are also very fitting considering the situation in which we are now living. A number of couples are living apart and for some, music is what keeps them connected.”
