Following the release of her single ‘Coming Home’ which we covered on the site not too long ago, Jenny Plant debuts her stunning EP ‘New Moon’.
Born amidst a time of global disaster and aptly titled ‘New Moon’ in reflection of a new beginning, the EP features performances from some of the finest session musicians from the comfort of their own homes across Europe. It is a truly modern EP. The project is a 4-track masterpiece that gently glides between singles, ‘Down To The Wire’, ‘Coming Home’, ‘Shadow To Dust’ and finally ‘Lullaby’.
Individually, each track holds its own identity and carries its own feats, ‘Coming Home’ upon release garnered quick acclaim across the media and ardent support from Spotify who placed the single on ‘Easy’ and ‘Focus’ playlists. Single ‘Shadow To Dust’ has been confirmed to be synced in one of Sweden’s most popular shows and ‘Down To The Wire’ caught the attentions of Mahogany for one of their ‘Home Edition’ sessions this lockdown.
Speaking on the EP, Jenny explains; “The title, New Moon reflects the elemental and ethereal feel of the EP not only heard through the music but the imagery created through the lyrics. New Moon aims to sooth your sole: A new moon, a new beginning.”
The ‘New Moon’ EP boasts an impressive collection of musical minds, partially recorded at the legendary AIR studios with production maestro Maxwell Cooke (Ellie Golding, Gabrielle Aplin) and imprints from Sam Thompson on string arrangements (credits including Ellie Goulding & The XX) and Chris Maas of Mumford and Sons on the drums and finally engineered by Tom Bailey (Thom Yorke, Florence and The Machine), the team around this single lay the foundations for a very promising release.
