Stunning, sophisticated and endlessly stylish, new pop artist Agi hailing from Leeds has dropped her debut single ‘Crying Past Midnight’. And what a powerful debut it is. Featuring subtle beats and soaring vocals, ‘Crying Past Midnight’ is the perfect radio-ready pop track, comparable to the universally popular ‘Drivers License’, by Olivia Rodrigo, that took the world by storm only a month ago with its equally enticing soundscape. Breathing new life into modern popular music, this youthful offering is entirely relatable and is sure to hit home with her listeners.
When asked about the meaning behind her new track Agi shared:
“This song is about an inevitable breakdown of a relationship. Not only is it very personal and close to home, but it also represents the way I want to be as a person. In hard and challenging situations, I always want to be graceful and understanding. I treated it almost like a conversation that I would want to have with the other person. Even when we’re both hurting, it’s about still being full of love and passion and wanting to lift the other person up so they don’t suffer.”
‘Crying Past Might’ is a darkly emotive and deeply mesmerising track serves as a perfect introduction to the talents of Agi. Already commanding the attention of the entire British pop music scene with only her debut track under her belt, it is clear to see that she has a very positive career ahead of her.
