Glasgow Green’s answer to the presence of an Osprey Nest at Strathallan Castle, TRNSMT, has announced it’s line-up for 2017. This is the first installment of TRNSMT and it comes after the announcement that Scotland’s beloved T in the Park Festival would not take place this year, due to the habitation of Osprey’s at the festivals new home. Strathallan Castle had only hosted the festival twice, in 2015 and 2016 and the freshly branded TRNSMT will take place at Glasgow Green between the 7th and 9th of July.

It has been announced that Radiohead, Kasabian and Biffy Clyro will headline the festival, which was received superbly by those who were hopeful to travel to the festival. This line-up was reported to be true a week prior to the announcement with many outlets predicting these three huge bands to make the bill. Biffy Clyro were arguably the most predictable given their Scottish heritage, Radiohead were somewhat of a surprise and many thought it would not be Kasabian due to the fact that they were announced by Reading and Leeds Festival as ‘exclusive UK Festival headliners’. However, TRNSMT have definitely pulled it out the bag with this bill and are sure to persuade avid T in the Park fanatics to make the short trip from Perthshire to Glasgow Green.
In addition to the three headliners, a handful of other acts have been announced for the three days of the festival. Joining Radiohead on the Friday night will be Belle and Sebastian, London Grammar and winner of the Brit Awards Critics Choice award for 2017 Rag ‘N’ Bone Man.
On Saturday night, Kasabian who last headlined T in the Park in 2015 will be accompanied by Catfish and the Bottlemen, George Ezra and The Kooks.
Finally, Biffy Clyro will wrap up the festival on Sunday night and the likes of Two Door Cinema Club, Twin Atlantic and Blossoms will also take to the stage.
T in the Park was famous for it’s mud and uncertain weather conditions, but one thing is for sure – the atmosphere created by festival-goers was like no other. It is almost impossible to not compare TRNSMT to the festival that went before, we know that it is not simply a re-brand but a fresh start, but it is certain that the same sense of collectiveness and energy will be mirrored and relayed to the field on Glasgow Green.
Pre-Sale for the festival begun this morning at 9am and will go on General Sale from 9am this Friday the 3rd of February. For more information regarding tickets and more visit – trnsmtfest.com
