Spaceheads are a unique trumpet and drum duo made up of Andy Diagram and Richard Harrison. Though Diagram is well known as a member of one of Manchester’s most iconic bands James, the duo have become renowned for their quirky and infectious music that sees Diagram play through loopers and effects alongside Harrison’s driving percussion.
Their latest album ‘Laughing Water’ was released back in November 2016 and deemed by GIGsoup as their most accessible album to date. The title track has become something of a favourite of both BBC 6 Music’s Gideon Coe and Tom Robinson.
The duo have announced four live dates; beginning their short tour in Brussels before heading to London and Manchester. They’ll be ending the tour in one of Glasgow’s award winning cafes/music venues; The Glad Cafe.
Spaceheads are playing the following independent venues –
21/01/2017: Cinema Nova (Brussels, Belgium)
04/02/2017: Ugly Duck (London, UK)
03/10/2017: Carlton Club (Whalley Range, UK)
04/03/2017: Glad Cafe (Glasgow, UK)
“Come and dance to old favourites, groove to new beats and preview their new rabble-rousing offering, The Revolution Sashays Up The Mall.”
‘Laughing Water’ is out now via Electric Brass Records. You can purchase a copy of the experimental masterpiece from the bands website: http://spaceheads.co.uk
