Roo Panes announces new single, deluxe album, and UK/US/European tour dates

“It’s about missing someone’s presence.  That voice in your ear.  That running commentary and constant that perhaps you once wished away”

British singer-songwriter Roo Panes today announces the release of new single ‘Commentator’, alongside revealing details of a deluxe edition of his latest ‘Quiet Man’ album (out April 26th). He will also be heading out on a headline European and US tour throughout March, April and May before playing a number of UK and European festivals this summer.

Recorded at Urchin Studios, ‘Commentator’ is one of three new tracks to appear on the deluxe edition of ‘Quiet Man’, alongside live tracks recorded at Roo’s headline show at Shepherds Bush Empire on June 21st 2018.

‘Quiet Man’ was Roo Panes’ third album, following ‘Little Giant’ (2014) and ‘Paperweights’ (2016). To date his music has been streamed over 200 million times on Spotify alone, received over 20 million views across Youtube & Vevo and been supported at radio stations by the likes of Lauren Laverne (BBC 6 Music), Annie Mac and Phil Taggart (BBC Radio 1), Zane Lowe (Beats 1), Jo Whiley (BBC Radio 2) and Dermot O’Leary (BBC Radio 2).

When asked about the inspiration behind ‘Commentator’ Roo explains, “It’s about missing someone’s presence.  That voice in your ear.  That running commentary and constant that perhaps you once wished away”.
