Pokey LaFarge is back in town! Well, if not your town, then definitely one near you!
LaFarge is the missing link between Hank Williams, Townes Van Zandt and Jack White. Since 2006 his brank of traditional American folk, with coeval social commentary has made him an international star. On his latest album, Something in the Water he regales us with stories of stories of heartbreak, cold shoulders and ultimately redemption.
Live LaFarge brings the best of classic American song writing, but with the panache and showmanship of a contemporary artist. He works the crowd in to a frothing, sweaty, singing mess, then leave them wanting more at the end. His shows are a mixture of hipster cool, rockabilly attitude, country humour and the original ethos of folk that made a generation pick up a guitars and write songs. Support comes in the form of Jake La Botz whose brand of country blues breathes life into an old genre.
