Aussie songstress Natalie Imbruglia has added another London date to her 2017 acoustic tour.
The 42 year old singer-songwriter will play an additional date at the Union Chapel on May 12th, with a total of four UK dates. The London show on May 11th has already sold out.

Born in Sydney, Australia, Imbruglia began her career as a child actress and had a two year stint on ‘Neighbours’ as country girl and construction worker Beth Brennan. She left the soap in 1994, and moved to London to pursue a career in music.

‘Torn’ , Imbruglia’s cover of a track by LA band Ednaswapp was her breakthrough hit – becoming the biggest selling UK single to have missed out on the no.1 slot, and the most played song in Australian radio history. The songs video, set on a soundstage and depicting a tumultuous relationship between Imbruglia and British actor Jeremy Sheffield has been cited as one of the best music videos of its time. Imbruglia was nominated for a Best Female Performance Grammy for the song, losing out to Celine Dion’s, ‘My Heart Will Go On’.

Imbruglia’s debut album, ‘Left of the Middle’ released shortly afterwards was one of the highest selling releases of 1997, going platinum five times in her native Australia and four times in the United Kingdom.

Some have, perhaps unfairly, viewed Imbruglia as a ‘one hit wonder’, as her subsequent releases never quite lived up to astounding success of her debut. Nonetheless, in the decade following ‘Left of the Middle’, Imbruglia has released four more albums, made a return to acting with appearances in ‘Johnny English’ and ‘Underdogs’, and acted as a judge and mentor in the 2010 X Factor Australia.

In 2015, she released, ‘Male’, her first album in six years. The album features 13 covers of songs originally recorded by male vocalists, and sees Imbruglia take on works by The Cure, Damien Rice and Neil Young.

Natalie Imbruglia will play the following UK dates in April:

Thursday 11th May – Union Chapel, London (sold out)
Friday 12th May – Union Chapel, London
Sunday 14th May – Gorilla, Manchester
Wednesday 17th May – 02 Institute, Birmingham
