Imelda May has now revealed the cover of her new album ‘Life. Love. Flesh. Blood’, set to be released on 7th April on Decca Records.
The Irish singer-songwriter has also released her single ‘Black Tears’ featuring the legendary Jeff Beck, and a host of UK and Ireland dates to support her new album.
Beck says of the singer and working with her: “I knew it from the start …you cannot ignore talent this unique.”
‘Life. Love. Flesh. Blood’, which is Imelda‘s fifth studio album, marks a new personal and autobiographical path for the musician. It was recorded over seven days, featuring a host of musical talents including Jools Holland on ‘When It’s My Time’.

She is supported by the same backing musicians and producer who recorded Alison Krauss’ and Robert Plant’s ‘Raising Sand’: producer T Bone Burnett, guitarist Marc Ribot (Elvis Costello), drummer Jay Bellerose (Elton John & Leon Russell) and bassist Zach Dawes (The Last Shadow Puppets).
May recently performed ‘Black Tears’ on Jools Holland’s show Hootenanny on New Year’s Eve (see above).
Her tour kicks off on the 4th May in Ipswich, with dates across the country including a night in the London Palladium.
