Gentleman’s Dub Club kick-off their 13 UK tour dates with a headline set at Camden’s Electric Ballroom
Since their formation in early 2006, Gentleman’s Dub Club have made a name for themselves as one of the most respected names in dub/reggae music. GDC have been on tour for over a decade, are festival favourites across the UK and Europe, and have found themselves regularly playing to crowds of 10,000 or more. Having sold out The Electric in Brixton numerous times, the Gents are set to return to London for another show as part of their newly announced February headline UK tour.
Vocalist Jonathan Scratchley has said on plans for the upcoming dates, “We will be doing a new set, with a few new tunes, to add to the raucous high-tempo love affair we have built our community on!
London is always a highlight to play, but we will be back in great places like Manchester and Bristol, too. We love those cities but, to be honest, every show we play has this enlightening energy to it, so above all we just feel blessed to be able to share the journey with so many.”
Speaking about their recent tour with reggae legends, UB40, Scratchley said, “performing in front of an audience who fell in love with this music 20 years before we did gave us a sense of our place in this world. It has helped us look at our own music in relation to what they have achieved and how we can communicate our own sound. They know how to tour!”
