A mere 42 years after they released their debut single, which just happened to be the UKs first “Punk” release, The Damned are set to go back on the road. The 16 date, “Evil Spirits” tour takes in venues in England, Scotland and Wales, kicking off in Newcastle on January 28th next year.
Initially overshadowed by contemporaries like The Sex Pistols and The Clash, The Damned have proved to have the most longevity – recently they’ve played at Hyde Park with Green Day and in May 2016, they even graced the hallowed Royal Albert Hall as part of their 40th anniversary tour
Original members Dave Vanian and the legendary Captain Sensible will be augmented by Monty Oxymoron, Pinch and Stu West and promise to rip through their extensive back catalogue on next years’ shows. Expect to hear ‘Neat Neat Neat’, ‘Love Song’ ‘New Rose’, and ‘Smash It Up’ among others.
