It’s been three years since Buckcherry released their last studio album titled ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll’, but lead singer Josh Todd has announced that the band will enter the studio in October to record their Eighth album.
This album will be the first with Buckcherry’s newest members, Sean Winchester on the drums and Kevin Roentgen on guitar. Although Josh Todd hasn’t publicly spoken about why the former guitarist and drummer left the band, he did state in an interview that “there was no collective thought.” He may be referring to creative differences or even conflicting interests in business matters, whatever the case, Todd says that the band is “in the best form it’s been in” if that’s true then fans will be in for a treat as Buckcherry has always deliverd a hard punching album.
Hopefully, the change in line-up won’t have a negative impact on the band’s raw sound that is very reminiscent of the greasy rock that emerged from the decade before them. Songs like ‘Crazy B***h’ and ‘Lit Up’ are considered classics among nineties rock fans.
Josh Todd and The Conflict:
Another recent project that may have slipped the radar is Josh Todd and the Conflict. A new band with the same grit that Buckcherry offered up in their early days with a few small bursts of ‘Nu-Metal Rap’ style vocals. The project has received mixed reviews but for Buckcherry fans it is worth a listen. The album titled ‘Year of the Tiger’ was released back in September of 2017 and was co-produced by Stone Temple Pilots drummer Eric Kretz. The line-up is as follows,
Josh Todd (lead vocals)
Stevie D (guitar, backing vocals)
Gregg Cash (bass guitar)
Sean Winchester (drums)
