UK tour this month with shows in Leeds, Brighton, Manchester, London & Bristol.
On the eve of the release of his recent album ‘Drastic Measures’ via City Slang, Austin musician Bayonne performed the new album live in full for a small group of attendees at Man Made Music’s recording studio in NYC. In a first-time collaboration between Bayonne, Man Made, and Sennheiser electronics, the audience experienced the performance through special wireless headphones. Part live show, part listening event, the curated and immersive experience allowed the audience to listen with the audio quality intended by the artist — a unique opportunity to experience what Bayonne hears in his own headphones while he mixes and live layers his tracks throughout a show.
Ahead of his UK tour this month, the full performance is streaming online below here.
Each song on Bayonne’s Drastic Measures is orchestral in texture, unfolding in countless layers and kaleidoscopic tones. With great intensity of detail, the Austin-based artist deepens that sonic complexity by weaving in elegantly warped samples of the field recordings he’s gathered for over a decade. But in its powerful melodies and pristine arrangements, Drastic Measures ultimately bears a pure pop lucidity even in its most grandiose moments.
