Ne-Yo collaborator and MTV Award winner Ahmed Soultan has announced he is heading out on a tour across Europe, including a special live date at London’s 229, 23rd October. Recognised for his signature Afro-Arabian style, Soultan is based in Morocco, and blends more traditional cultural sounds with Soul, RnB, Hip-Hop .
A frequent guest on BBC Radio 1Xtra’s ‘Destination Africa’, his new style and sound is gaining popularity by the second. Previous single ‘My Jailer’, released in 2012, earned him the MTV European Music Award for best Africa/India/Middle East Act and the nomination for the MTV EMA Worldwide Act – in competition with Rihanna. He has featured twice in Rolling Stone Magazine, with Forbes Magazine also describing him as being among the ’13 African Celebrities To Watch In 2013’.
The tour comes after his third album ‘Music Has No Boundaries’ won the Best African album category at the All African Music Awards in 2016, with 2019 seeing the release of an extended version of the album. Used to performing at events across the continents, such as Sacred Music Festival in Fès, Moonfest Takeroust in Marrakech, Casablanca Music Festival and Paradiso Theatre in Amsterdam, his much anticipated return to the UK is fast approaching.
