“Free Fallin'” singer Tom Petty has died at the age of 66 after suffering cardiac arrest, according to a message posted on the singer’s website and social media.

The singer, known for his song “Free Fallin'” and his cinematic music videos, was born in Florida in 1950. He was inspired to go into music after meeting Elvis and listening to the Beatles and the Byrds.
He won multiple awards, including the keys to the city he was born and raised in. While he is most known for his time with The Heartbreakers, he was the cofounder of the late-80s band, the Traveling Wilburys.
