Paramore have annouced via their Official Facebook page that they have parted ways with long-term bassist Jeremy Davis. The remaining members of the band, Hayley Williams and Taylor Yorke, have stated that they will continue on without Davis.
In the statement the band wrote We’ve written and re-written this countless times and there’s just not a good way to put it… Jeremy is no longer going to be in the band with us. To be honest, this has been really painful. After taking time to consider how to move forward, we ultimately found that we really do believe Paramore can and should continue on. And so we will.
Asides from Williams, Davis had been the only other founding member of the band after the departures of brothers Zac and Josh Farro in late 2010. In contrast to the departure of the brothers, Jeremy Davis departure appears to be on good terms with the band statement continuing to say “We’re hopeful for Paramore’s future and we’re also excited for what Jeremy’s going to do next.”
Paramore will embark on their second Parahoy Festival voyage on March 5th. The festival, which takes place on a 4-day cruise from Floria to Mexico and back, will also feature performances from special guests Chvrches, X Ambassadors and New Found Glory.
