On the London scene, there’s a name that keeps on buzzing stronger and louder with every release: ONUR. The 23-year-old singer/songwriter/producer started making waves a bit more than a year ago with his debut single Beamin’ which earned him an unexpected but well deserved spot in Martin Garrix‘ playlist. Always keen on challenging himself by exploring new sounds & blending genres, the British artist of Turkish descent made it clear that he was here to say with the debut EP A Millennial Rhapsody in spring, whose lead-single Beautiful Time totals 450 000 streams on Spotify!
To finish the year with a bang, ONUR released another brilliant and explosive track: What U Do. Co-written & co-produced with a little help of Max Marlow (known for his work on Declan McKenna’s Brazil), this pop/rnb earworm will make your heart (and your mouth!) sing. The song stems from the simplest sentiment – love – which ONUR managed to depict perfectly, with a bold and intricate sound paired with very raw and organic visuals, courtesy of director Meg Wilford. “The whole idea of this video was to capture the good parts of what makes a special bond between two people. I really wanted to portray it in the simplest and most organic way as I could so that everyone could relate to the sentiment behind the song”, he reveals.
