Polish producer shares new single & video, “Hollow”. First track to be shared from forthcoming album, due for release this summer – details to follow.
Zamilska is a producer, composer and performer, known to audiences in her native Poland for her trancy beats, monstrous bass and stage charisma. She combines sounds that are rooted in techno with intense vocal melodies, sampling sounds ranging from choirs to ritual chants.
“Hollow” is the first single to be released from a new album which is set to be released this summer – details to be announced soon. The track is a story that will be interpreted differently by each listener, though the over-riding theme is of the internal war we all rage every day. As Zamilska puts it, the track is about: “the anxiety of what want vs what we get.”
From Silesia, the coal-mining region of Poland, Natalia Zamilska’s heavy, rhythmic, bass-filled electronics aren’t easy to pigeonhole, oscillating between techno, electronica, worldmusic and noise. She takes inspirations from various sources: the raw sounds of her native Poland, oriental elements and samples from across the globe. Holding the sturdiness of an industrial grinder, her music is pensive yet melodic and trance-like.
Already her tracks have been played on Radio BBC 6 Music by Iggy Pop, Mary Anne Hobbs and Tom Ravenscroft; Nine Inch Nails recommended one of her tracks on their official Spotify playlist and recently she stepped into the gaming world and contributed to RUINER (Digital Dragon Award 2018 winner Best Polish Game Soundtrack), which features her music heavily throughout. Her music hit the big screen in Aleksandra Terpińska’s short film “The Best Fireworks Ever” (Cannes winner CANAL+ award for short film and the Rail d’Or award) and in documentary “Tourists” for which she composed the entire soundtrack. Both films were screened during various internationalfilmfestivals. On the small screen her remix of Gazelle Twin’s “Belly of the Beast” (YouTube) was played on the ABC series “How To Get Away With Murder”.
ZAMILSKA is restless in her search for new means of expression, inspirations, and strives for perfection. She keeps the bar high, which makes each new project a bit more interesting than a previous one. Her releases to date are 2014’s LP ‘UNTUNE’ and her 2016 EP ‘UNDONE’. Now, she prepares for her first international full-length release – more details to follow soon.
