In various posts over the past few months the Alabama raised rapper has shared a few glimpses into the studio as he cracks down on the highly anticipated Trunk Muzik 3.
As hard-core fans know, the Trunk Muzik mixtape’s are a collection of some of Yelawolf’s rawest work. The first Trunk Muzik boasted tracks such as “Pop The Trunk” and “Good to go” recorded back in 2009 with producer William WLPWR Washington. WLPWR also produced the second instalment along with Jim Jonsin.
“Box Chevy 6?”
Both of the esteemed producers returned for TM3 to bring back the magic that fans know and love on “0-60” which was released by Interscope Records in 2010. It peaked at number one on the Heatseakers Albums Chart. WLPWR also produced a large portion of Yelawolf’s second studio album “Love Story” but he did not resume the role of producer for the recently released “Trial By Fire” which was released on October 27, 2017. Yelawolf has also hinted about some of the features on the upcoming mixtape. He even showed in the studio via his Instagram stories. Fans on social media are also speculating whether the mixtape will feature a sixth instalment to the much loved and long running “Box Chevy” series of tracks.
Recently Yelawolf deleted all of his posts on Instagram but stated in an interview that the purpose was for a “Clean slate” and that “Big things” are on their way. There is no official release date yet and with Yelawolf busy with the festival season the date could still be a few months away. However, in the meantime, there is a wealth of material previously released by the Shady Records artist. In 2016 a seven-track EP titled “Hotel (House Of The Endless Living) that was released onto Youtube through his own label Slumerican. There have also been mentions about his forth studio album rumoured to be titled “Ghetto Cowboy” that will most likely have a 2019 release date.
