In the past few years, Alex and the Wonderland have emerged from the serenity of rural England to summer festival stages and the small music venues of London’s cityscape. Their latest release, ‘Searching For Myself’ is a folk inspired commercial record, rooted in pop, Americana and country. Alex have shared stages with the likes of Alabama 3, Ian Dury’s Blockheads, and Toploader, and are now gearing up to take centre stage following the release of their eclectic yet vulnerable new single.
Speaking about ‘Searching For Myself’, Alex explains that it’s “about the longing for a self-discovery escape and journey on the open road, in order to reconnect with oneself as well as life in general again, after facing issues with his mental health, just 6 months previously.” The honesty portrayed through the lyrics meant that this song wasn’t easy to record, but fortunately Alex says “piece by piece, I’m getting there.”
This is an artist with much vitality to celebrate, as Alex and the Wonderland’s debut single, 2019’s ‘Love’s Louder’, received impressive airplay. Their latest single, ‘Searching For Myself’, features a host special guests, including Dana Immanuel of The Stolen Band and Lara “Flo” Lee, a finalist on BBC’s ‘The Voice’. We look forward to seeing what treasures Alex will find next on his journey of self-discovery.
