Power pop veterans Weezer have detailed their eleventh studio album ‘Pacific Daydream’, due for release on October 27 through Atlantic Records.
Alongside the announcement, the band released a second track titled ‘Mexican Fender’, which sonically is a step away from the bright sunshine pop of previously released lead single ‘Feels Like Summer’.
Weezer released the following statement with the announcement:
“Once upon a time, I, Chuang Chou, dreamt I was a butterfly, fluttering hither and thither, to all intents and purposes a butterfly. I was conscious only of my happiness as a butterfly, unaware that I was Chou. Soon I awaked, and there I was, veritably myself again. Now I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly, dreaming I am a man.” – Zhuangzi
The band will make a short stop in the UK for some October dates:
Oct 23: O2 Academy, Leeds
Oct 24: O2 Academy, Glasgow
Oct 25: O2 Apollo, Manchester
Oct 27: O2 Academy, Birmingham
Oct 28: SSE Arena, Wembley, London
