Irish rock trio Touts released their debut EP ‘Sickening & Deplorable’ last week, and what a debut it is! Each of the four tracks brings back memories of that ever so dearly missed 70’s punk; fast paced, remarkable lyrics and raucous vocals round this album off as one to set the lads on a rollercoaster of a career in the music industry.
Following the release of the EP, Touts have just dropped the video to the lead single ‘Political People’. A track focusing in on how politics are so far removed from todays youth, with the UK’s current political situation it’s the perfect time to release such a track, and is sure to get it heard within the masses. The video takes a lighter feel, revolving around a live performance of the track which lets us get an insight into their crazy live shows and really focus in on the importance of the lyrics.
The trio who describe themselves as “a singer that can’t sing, a mod that can’t play bass and a drummer that can’t see” have gained incredible amount of support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, Radio X and Spotify. Despite that modest description, the band really are one of the best up and coming punk bands around, they’ve got huge amounts of energy, are outspoken, fun and, of all things, extremely talented! So it comes as no surprise that Touts have managed to bag themselves a support slot at Blossoms’ Manchester Castlefield Bowl show next month. With their own headline show taking place the day before at the Deaf Institute, also in Manchester. If you thought the trio weren’t doing well enough for themselves already, did we forget to mention they will support the one and only Kasabian in Belfast at the end of August?!
If these two slots don’t gain them enough fans to start producing an album, we don’t know what will! Keep your eyes and ears open for Touts over the next few months.
