Tokyo Tea Room are arguably the most successful band to come from the heart of the Canterbury music scene in recent years. The group have been trailblazers right from their inception five years ago, and have been supported by the likes of BBC Introducing, BBC6 Music, The Line of Best Fit and Dork Magazine.

Tokyo Tea Room recently amassed 40,000 streams with their first single of the year ‘Forever Out Of Time’, which was included in H&M’s Instore Spotify Playlist, and their follow up ‘Always Tomorrow’ is due for release July 12th via Painted Halo Records and Easter Island Records. ‘Always Tomorrow’ paints aserene picture, where the instrumentation moves in tender waves across a sea of honeyed psychedelia. 2019 marks a new chapter for Tokyo Tea Room, instigated when the group had their band name “stolen” by one of the biggest nightclubs in their hometown. Undeterred, they regrouped and used the incident as an opportunity to bring their infectious and dream-like psychedelic pop to new heights.

Tokyo Tea Room is the lovechild of Daniel Elliott and Ben Marshall, where melodic bass lines, hypnotic guitar riffs, and dreamy synths form a unique sound with a soulful personality. From the calm countryside to the big smoke, drawing inspiration from wherever life takes them, Daniel writes, records and produces with the band behind the walls of his studio Roswell Recordings. ‘Always Tomorrow’ was recorded and mixed by Daniel Elliott at Roswell Recordings, and mastered by mastered by Mike Hillier at Metropolis Studio.
