Kent isn’t the first place that springs to mind when you hear reggae music – which was a significant obstacle for trombonist Reuben George. Always wanting a career in the music industry, George came from a family of instrumentalists, and though a career in classical or jazz music was within his reach, he chose a different path.
Never forgetting his love for ska, he fused his catchy brass hooks with a more pop-influenced sound, to create his debut single: Let’s Run Away (To Mexico). The perfect soundtrack to escape back to summer, the single brings some much needed sun to colder climes.
His new musical approach is set to be the start of a long line of pop hits, after he has harnessed all of his focus and life resources into making music. Recording in his converted van, travel is no obstacle, this release being his first pit-stop on a long musical journey.
