Teach Me Human Bring their Signature Songwriting to Life in “Tell Me That You Love Me”

The Alternative unit Teach Me Human kicked-off 2019 with “Tell Me That You Love Me”. The emotive indie-rock record came to fruition, like many of their singles, when lead singer and songwriter Brian Cotter was on air force deployment in 2018. Cotter is never afraid to be raw with his songwriting. Often hidden under energized arrangements are dark contemplations.

For ‘Tell Me That You Love Me”, the lyrics represent the conflict of living in a new and dangerous reality while still attempting to connect with loved ones back at home. The music video carefully constructs the balance of darkness words with a crystal clear and dynamic visual.

Teach Me Human have been spreading their music and honing their craft for years. They have performed in notable NYC venues like Webster Hall and CBGBs. Together, the group incorporates different rock stylings from gritty to pop sensibilities.

Most of Brian’s songs are now written in his head as he flies in the belly of his unit’s C-30 aircraft. This influence is apparent, with the release of their previous singles: “Rock Me To Sleep” and “No Joy”. Teach Me Human and their songwriting offers unique metaphorical perspectives that look at life without the typical musical clichés.

Currently, Teach Me Human is gearing up for the release of their newest single “Lonely Night”. The single was recorded at Vudu Studios in Port Jefferson, NY, and co-produced by Frank Mitaritonna (The Dear Hunter, O’Brother, Glassjaw).
