Rising UK artist Stealth has delivered his brand new single, ‘Black Heart’ featuring renowned funk and soul band, The Dap Kings.
‘Black Heart’ showcases Stealth’s rich jazz-inspired instrumental sound and silky vocal range, with the track paying homage to the anticipation that precedes a break-up. ‘’Black Heart’ is about people saying one thing, but their Black Heart says another.” says Stealth. “I had the pleasure recording this with The Dap Kings over in NYC and it was a dream come true. I’ve always been a huge fan of Charles Bradley and Sharon Jones who they recorded and played with, so to have the opportunity to meet and record with these living legends was unbelievable.”
The track uses a range of blues-led melodies and softly mesmeric strings in unison with The Dap Kings, who previously collaborated with Mark Ronson and was the backing band for the late Amy Winehouse on her ‘Back to Black’ North American tour.
Influenced by blues and soul legends such as Etta James and Howlin Wolf, Stealth propelled into the spotlight with his debut EP, ‘Intro’, whichpeaked at #2 in the UK iTunes singer/songwriter chart and #3 in the US. His single off the EP ‘Judgement Day’, premiered on an episode of hit TV series ‘Suits’ and later clocked up over 6 million plays on YouTube and almost 4 million Spotify streams to date. Off the back of the release of ‘Intro’, the UK singer/songwriter received strong support across the BBC from Radio 1, Radio 2, 6 Music and BBC Introducing.
Also carving a mark for himself on the live music circuit, Stealth has supported the likes of Seinabo Sey, Jamie Woon, Nothing But Thieves, Tiggs Da Author, Vaults, Kaleo and many more. Next month, the ‘Judgement Day’ hitmaker will be heading to Austin, Texas for his eagerly anticipated shows at this year’s SXSW and at Parker Jazz Club on 14th March. A slick embodiment of the rising talent’s wistful sound, ‘Black Heart’ marks the beginning of an exciting chapter in Stealth’s career, with the UK artist also set to release his brand-new EP later this year.
