Swedish melodic death veterans Soilwork recently released a brand new video for ‘Death In General’. The music clips is the second from the band’s last album The Ride Majestic which came out on 28th August this year through Nuclear Blast. ‘Death In General’ is available exclusively at Toontrack.com.
The Ride Majestic is Soilwork’s tenth studio album. During the 2000’s the band established itself as one of the leading melodic death metal acts in Sweden and Europe in general. Originating from Helsinborg, Sweden, the band was founded and to this day led by Bjorn “Speed” Strid, widely considered as one of metal’s finest contemporary singers. Their last album saw the band shift into more progressive sound and ‘Death In General’ carries the new direction while maintaining strong melodeath roots.
The video was shot in Joshua Tree, California by Hristo Shindov, famous for his photography work with bands such as Five Finger Death Punch, Asking Alexandria, and In This Moment. The music is done by Bjorn Strid and David Andersson, with Strid also responsible for the lyrics. The song is performed by Soilwork in their current line-up: Bjorn Strid – vocals, David Andersson – guitar, Sylvain Coudret – guitar, Markus Wibom – bass (joined the band earlier this after longtime bassist Ola Fink left), Sven Karlsson – keyboards, Dirk Verbeuren – drums.
Soilwork are currently touring Europe with upcoming shows in Switzerland, Italy and Germany. Unfortunately, there are no dates booked for the U.K. in the near future.
The Ride Majestic is out now via Nuclear Blast. Watch the exclusive premiere of ‘Death In General’ only at Toontrack.com.
