Slowdive announce new album, share new song ‘Sugar For The Pill’

Slowdive have revealed further details regarding their first album in 22 years. The follow-up to 1995’s ‘Pygmalion’ will be out on May 5th via Dead Oceans. Previously, the band has teased the release of the new self-titled album with the track ‘Star Roving’. Now, the shoegaze pioneers have unveiled a video for a new song titled ‘Sugar For The Pill’. According to a press statement, the clip and cover artwork were inspired by Harry Smith’s avant-garde 1957 filmHeaven and Earth Magic’.

Slowdive have also announced a surprise performance at London’s The Garage venue that will take place tomorrow (March 29). Tickets are on sale now via the band’s website. The show will be streaming live on Slowdive’s Facebook, beginning at 21:10 GMT.
