Peckham psych-pop trio ‘Beaty Heart’ to release “Kanute’s Comin’ Round”

South-London psych-pop trio Beaty Heart are set to welcome in the New Year with a new single, “Kanute’s Comin’ Round”. To new track is set to be released by ‘Nusic Sounds’ on 3rd March 2014

“Kanute’s Comin’ Round” is another taste from the band’s debut LP ‘Mixed Blessings’, which was recorded with legendary producer Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, Idlewild), and is due for release this Spring. The band describe the album as “a collection of rambunctious pop hymns that wrap you up in a thick pastry then cook the shit out of you.”

Following on from their previous single ‘Lekka Freakout’, the new single continues and marks the bands journey towards their eagerly anticipated debut album and has already picked up plays from Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart & Alice Lavine, daytime play from 6Music’s Radcliff and Maconie and XFM‘s John Kennedy. The track is also a real change of direction from 2011’s ‘Slush Puppy/Cola’ and offers a more pop feel, while still maintaining its indie foundations. It’s addictive music that went straight onto my playlist for the month.

The Peckham band formed at Goldsmiths College, London in 2010 as a four-piece and the Independent recently described them as “London’s answer to Animal Collective”. Praise indeed. Beaty Heart are Josh Mitchell, Charlie Rotberg and James Moruzzi.

After recently playing for BBC Introducing at London’s KOKO, Beaty Heart will be releasing “Kantue’s Comin’ Round” on 3rd March via Nusic and will be playing the following shows…
