On Friday the 7th of September friends and fans joined singer/songwriter Oliver Shaw at the single launch for ‘SILENT MOVIE’ at beloved Londonmusic venue Nambucca, Holloway Road.
Against the backdrop of his epic dystopian music video showing for the first time through a projector, in a bizarre but mesmerising twist of events, Oliver walked on stage wearing the same iconic spacesuit from the video to deliver an jawdropping Rockstar-Astronaut performance.
The surrealist video which has been compared to Blur’s ‘The Universal’ and Stanley Kubrick’s ‘Clockwork Orange’ has already been the subject of much praise, with ‘SILENT MOVIE’ being the first single to be released from Oliver Shaw’s debut album ‘The Last of the English Cowboys’ – which remarkably will beself-released exclusively on vinyl format on the 16th of October 2018.
Heavily influenced by The Beatles, Radiohead, Syd Barrett, The Small Faces, The Doors and The Rolling Stones, Oliver Shaw creates poetic entrancing melodies with an alt-rock/indiepop sound. Having already played over 100 gigs this year, this Camden-rocker is one of a dying breed of dedicated London musicians.
