The Notwist announce ‘Close to the Glass’ album release

The Notwist last night announced their first album release for 6 years. ‘Close to the Glass’ will be released on February 24th 2014 and is the follow up to the critically acclaimed 2008 release, ‘The Devil, You + Me’.

The German based 4-piece has also announced a quite extensive European tour to promote the new material and details of this can be seen below. The title track to the new LP can be heard above.

It’s quite incredible to think that The Notwist have been recording and touring since 1989. The band have a large cult following and are almost as famous for their side-projects as their catchy song-writing. Whether the new album is a leap back to their darker indie days (Nook) or a continuation of their electronica based tracks remains to be seen but an 8th studio album is certainly something to look forward to on this wet winter morning.

A full review of the album will appear on GIGsoup within the next few weeks.
