Milo Evans, or nimino, is a London-based talent making lusciously deep multigenre electronic music that sits ahead of the curve of current trends, akin to the likes of Mura Masa, SG Lewis and Cosmo’s Midnight. nimino turned his ripples into great waves throughout the past few years garnering an ever-expanding international audience, and over 5 million streams on Spotify alone.
With each track he releases, you hear more dimensions of a sound both fresh and distinctly his, and his debut project is the perfect representation of his nonconformist attitude towards genre.
The project follows on from the colourful and almost ambient Grace, and the soulful, hip-hop infused ‘Back Up’, which landed a spot on New Music Friday UK and The Sound You Need and was supported by EARMILK, Stereofox and more.
Speaking on the project, nimino shares: Overall Vara was inspired by our romantic view of other seasons. When we are going through Winter and we think about Summer, we forget about the hay fever, mosquitos and sweaty bed sheets, we only remember the warmth and the more positive aspects. It’s a familiar thought process that can be related back to past relationships, time periods, and plenty of other things. I guess the EP trying is to say that it’s okay to idolise the good parts of something, but only if you can actually enjoy them whilst they’re happening.
