Italian-British singer, songwriter Michael Lukes provides a piece of divine viewing with his new video for ‘Stars’, encapsulating the notion of equality for all people, ideas and cultures. The videography shows clips of people from all walks of life, and powerfully portrays a strong sense of empowering solidarity. The ability to address such a poignant topic, as well as the ability to express pure emotion through his music, shows Michael’s great versatility as an artist. Watch the video here.
When discussing the relevance of the message within the video, Michael explains: “Already at the beginning of the video this theme can be felt, with the words ‘We are the Universe, we are all equal, we are one, we are all stars’. Then I also thought about the period we went through in these difficult and surreal months linked to the pandemic. What did we understand? Besides making us reflect on the important aspects of life, this event cancelled out, if ever there were any, the differences between people. We all found ourselves on the same level and the video wants to go in this direction: we are the same, we have always been, we will continue to be.”
Michael’s well cultured background has honed his indie, pop and folk sound, with his unique influences inspiring his debut EP ‘I AM’, released back in May 2019. The EP had airplay from both BBC6 and BBC Introducing. With new music in the pipeline it will be interesting to see what this artist has up his sleeve.
