MGMT just leaked the title of their fourth upcoming album, Little Dark Age.
Despite announcing to fans all the way back in 2015 that they’d be releasing new music, it wasn’t until their Instagram post on May 7 that confirmed the title and short teaser for their long-awaited return.
The caption for the teaser reads: “We want you to be excited. Here’s a ‘making of’ teaser video by @avidmacnutt to wet your whistles with audio visual scraps from the germination of the forthcoming album LITTLE DARK AGE.” (video below).
The video appears to be a cheaply-made collection of creepy footage accompanying the music from the upcoming release. This is nothing unlike the visuals that accompanied their self-titled 2013 album, which was the last we heard from the Connecticut group.
Fan-shot, live footage has been released of some of the new tracks at the Beale Street Music Festival in Tennessee this past Friday. Some of the confirmed new singles they performed were “James,” “Me and Michael,” “When You Die,” as well as the title track.
Be sure to keep an eye out via Twitter and Instagram where the band has been known to announce the progress of the new album.
