The Men are set to release a new EP of acoustic recordings, the product of many evenings spent around a campfire whilst recording their recent album “New Moon”.
The new EP is to be released on October 14th through Sacred Bones, the 12” EP comes with a 12-page photo book 11.5″ × 11.5″ insert featuring never before seen black & white photographs shot by their bassist, and lap-steel player, Kevin Faulkner, during the Big Indian sessions.
Two of these acoustic jams are alternate takes from the album, “I Saw Her Face” and “The Seeds”. The acoustic version of “The Seeds” is quite phenomenal and certainly deserves to be downloaded. The plugged-in version of “Water Babies” appeared on the b-side of their 7″ from January, ‘Patience’ and “Turn Your Color” are two entirely new beautiful tracks. The latter is quite beautiful and begs the question … why wasn’t it featured on “New Moon”? Stunning strings and clashing cymbals, this ‘almost-instrumental’ track stands out.
