Magnetic Skies blast off with ‘Refugee’ video

Hot on the heels of supporting Heaven 17, Portsmouth’s premiere synth-rock band Magnetic Skies have dropped their second EP, “Hold On” via the independent ReprinT Records label.

Latest single from the EP, “Refugee” is an uptempo synth rock track dealing with the nature of reality and the suffocation of anxiety and panic: “I’m drowned in confusion/blind by illusion/I want to find a reason/something to believe in”. The track is a re-recorded and re-worked version of a song principal band member Simon Kent had written before the band was formed. Released on the 50th anniversary of the moon landings, the spectacular video for ‘Refugee’ features Simon as an astronaut taking off from Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower and The Queen is even seen making a guest appearance!
