London based three-piece Kick Up The Fire return in rousing fashion with brand new single “Movers & Shakers“. The track offers more than a subtle nod to current political events happening in the UK using an apt comparison to a party spinning out of control with while the world around burns to the ground.
Musically “Movers & Shakers” is a high octane three and a half minute rollercoaster ride featuring sharp riffs and even sharper hooks, some unexpected backing melodies all held together by a crisp poised beat. The track was produced and mixed by Jim Lowe, whose past work includes platinum- and multi-platinum-selling albums for Stereophonics and a Grammy for engineering work for Herbie Hancock. In his hands, the songwriting is allowed to shine.
This latest single is the follow-up to the act’s eponymous debut EP and its sophomore EP ‘Money Men’. This latest track perhaps sees the band take a more direct approach lyrically without forsaking the energy that was evident on their prior work. “Movers & Shakers” highlights a band on the up ready to agitate and stir things up.
