Australian indie-pop duo Islandis shared their fourth single Slow It Down on 6 September 2019. This release follows a string of memorable singles spanning the past three years. Their debut release Home received worldwide success, clocking over 6 million Spotify plays and been featured on both BBC’s Radio One, Apple Music’s Beats One and a release through French Label Kitsune. Whilst the bands more recent singles Your Lover and Our World took a worldly departure across more dream-like landscapes, Slow It Down revisits the upbeat sounds we fell in love with.
Slow it down delivers sparkly, yet super slick instrumentals from producer/instrumentalist James Chave-Dubois blending nostalgic synthesizer’s with dreamy guitars and luscious percussion whilst Ben McInerney’s entrancing vocal delivery and infectious melodies take us on a romantic hook laced journey from start to finish.
This radiant upbeat indie-pop jam, reminiscent of bands like Phoenix with the sensibilities of other contemporaries like Foster The People, blends nostalgia with the modern and captures from start to finish filled with contagious pop hooks, intricate layering and all the tightly wrap drum pounding you’d expect to find in Islandis’s vibrantly glossy sound.
“A sparkling journey of nostalgia with a toe-tapping modern twist”, is how the band describes their latest release.
Islandis called upon Gerard Sidhu on this release for mixing and additional production who is one half of fellow Australian indie-pop counterparts Strange Talk.
Slow It Down has been released independently worldwide across all channels on 6 September 2019.
