Chase & Status present another installment of the London Bars series, this time featuring the South London grime MC Novelist. ‘Bigger Man Sound’ is the fourth part of the series that started in November. Previous volumes include ‘Funny’ (ft. Frisco), ‘More Ratatin’ (ft. Giggs) and ‘Wha Gwarn?’ (ft. Bonkaz). The latest single is out now via MTA Records.
After releasing their third studio album ‘Brand New Machine’ in 2013, the electronic duo from London venture even deeper into rap and grime territories with the London Bars tracks. Following the same style throughout the series, Chase & Status rely on heavy beats reminiscent of their older hip-hop oriented tracks, and invite promising English grime and rap artists.
‘Bigger Man Sound’ is released as a single via MTA, Chase & Status’s own independet record label. The London Bars series cement Saul Milton (Chase) and Will Kennard (Status) as London’s finest electronic act, and the main production duo to work with the best artists from UK’s drum’n’bass, dubstep, grime, hip-hop, and garage scenes.
At the age of 18, Novelist is currently one of England’s most promising grime MCs. Raised in Lewisham, South London, he is described as the new face of UK grime and praised to be one of the big names in the future. In 2015, Novelist boosted his portfolio with a short set and Reading & Leeds Festival, followed by supporting Major Lazer at Alexandra Palace, and now collaborating with Chase & Status.
There is no information on upcoming studio album by Chase & Status, although the London Bars series is an indicator that the electronic duo are working behind new music. ‘Bigger Man Sound’ is out now via MTA Records.
