Upcoming garage rocker Lucia Fontaine has unveiled her second single ‘Best Boy’.
The song is a follow-up to the brilliant ‘Lose My Mind’, with a similar lo-fi charm; its fuzzy guitar riffs combined with her hazy vocals and persistent drumming giving it a seventies rock n roll vibe whilst being completely refreshing at the same time. While it is more upbeat than her previous offering, her blunt lyrics contrast with the melody as she warns about the turmoil that can result from falling into a relationship too soon, culminating in her response “I lied and said “’you’re the best boy I ever had'”.

With an impressive performance at the BBC Introducing stage at T in the Park a few weeks ago, the Glasgow singer-songwriter is causing more excitement with each release. Both this latest single and ‘Lose My Mind’ are gritty, addictive and effortlessly cool as Fontaine gears up for the release of her debut EP ‘Best Boy’ in Autumn via Dead Beet Records. If these tracks are anything to go by, then it should be a scorcher.
