Cancer mellow out with new single ‘Esca’

Danish duo, Cancer, have shared their latest single ‘Esca’. It comes after a flurry of recent releases in anticipation for the pair’s debut album ‘Totem’ due to be released January 27th.

Cancer, have described their music as: “Future ballads oozing with presence, a restless calm and out-of-this-world melodiousness.”

‘Esca’ lives up to that statement, with a crescendoing intro of harsh guitars, which mellow out into a flow of double tracked ethereal guitars along with a funky bass line. Lead singer, Nikolaj Vonsild, wails on the chorus “Say you’ll love me again” followed by a vaudevillian guitar arpeggio.

The track has a live dynamic about it, especially in the clatter of the spacey drums. This is Cancer’s own progressive, experimental rock: loose but dynamic at the same time.
